Traders won't be satisfied until they get that cut... Earnings #1: Microsoft (MSFT) reports earnings on Thursday after the close. MSFT is the world's most valuable company at the moment, so all eyes will be on this behemoth's report. MSFT has tipped the scales as the third company to top the trillion-dollar mark. Will the "trillion-dollar curse" affect this tech company like it did Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN)? MSFT has been firing on all cylinders, so I believe that's less likely than it was for AAPL and AMZN. In particular, MSFT's cloud business growth is very strong, while their cash cow software business continues to provide operating capital. And (and this is a big AND) MSFT is not under the antitrust or privacy issues scrutiny that is besetting the other big tech companies. (They underwent their own version of that a decade ago.) If investors are still willing to pay for quality, this is one stock that could pull the whole market up along with it.
