Well, I finally did it,

What prompted me to cook eggs you might ask. Earlier at McDs this morn got a cup of joe or coffee as I do some mornings, I was getting a refill a short first line manager type came up to me and meekly, said, "Sir, I noticed the last couple of days you came in and got coffee but never bought the cup. You can't do that, Sir."  I was here two or three days ago prior to this visit and greeted the individual as I have done for passed, 10 moths now. Now a short time before he arrived for work I had bought an egg & cheese biscuit with juice and coffee, you recall. Gee I thought refills were free!? Hence,  self service I do the same with drinks outside of NYC NY and if you look at the receipt it's included with your meal which works out to be "free." The cup was given to me by a mantronly lady who wipes tables, mops floor and collects garbage and said, "Not with that, do it with this," she didn't approve of my cup sine I already used it besides it was a cup designed for vehicles that keep it hot for me and she hands me a fresh one. Go figure, I guess there's nothing better to do at 6 AM. Usually I ask for a latte or cappucino but they keep telling me, machine is broke... and give me a "free" cup  anyway it comes with the meal or should I say no one knows how to use machine. Interesting...

I'm here because new hotel management wouldn't let me in to the gift shop cum dinning area to get a cup of tea or hot water, which is "free" as part of their "free" continental breakfast and some include creal, yogurt, eggs, bacon or sausage, and waffles which I and other guests pay for via resort fee. I even presented coupons I got upon payment at checkin. The resort fee ($4.95 - $8.75) you recall are for those things that are billed as "free" i.e.: wifi, HBO & Cinemax Movies, use of pool, theme park shuttle buses etc...

I sometimes come here, most times I don't coz I like my cappuccino and a croissant and go to BR/ DD, most morningd, instead, coz those are not offered. I usually get "juice," but most times it's an orange drink not even Sunnydelight, by counter helps account, it's maybe one tenth of one percent juice, it's practly water reduced or diluted down so much. Incidentally the new manager left with coffee and six pieces of toast which she, almost lost while blocking my entry and telling the attendant not to let me in.

I'd bet wild horses coundn't keep her away. "But there are other people inside," I protested, "that are not guests and did you pay for those?" "Aren't you suppose to eat at home before you come in for your, shifft?" She, her portly self protested, "I work here at the front desk!" I assume I was in the other day saying, "Hey, two tons of fun where is the other ton? I saw the two of you in a car just the other day." Referring to the Manager of both hotels for Mr Rios. Who you recall banned me from his Rodeway Inns. I'm guessing if you're put upon all your life, being of short stature, you can't wait to put upon some one else. You recall, my jeep was found parked in a "free" spot at his other hotel, two doors down. Well I got up early the other day walked down the street a guy in a late model red convertible Mustang attempted to pick me up asking, "If you live, here?," and, "Do you know Bob?"

I answered, "Yes, I live right, here!" and, "There are many Bobs, which one?" I kept on walking and went to an Epic McDs nearby and had an egg & cheese biscuit and washed it down with a glass of M9inute Maid Orange Juice. After I was done threw away my trash and went back to the table and started work on my blog on my palmtop, 30 minutes went by and a County Sheriff's Office rep undoubtedly a

Community Affairs Officer came over and said that he noticed I haven't bought anything in that time and I had to go. I gather he based this on profiling, I was wearing a Winner Rolex 24 Ad Daytona 1992 Oyster Perpetual Chonograpgh watch, a comfortably lovely pair of blue jeans, a grey tartan plaid shirt by Wranglers and Addidas slippers. I'm guessing I'm looking like a local, by all accounts and perhaps a vagrant, if you're not looking carefully. I noticed that he had come by earlier and I said, "Hi". He didn't respond, just looked at his watch. I told told him I just had finished breakfast, I had ofcourse bought something earlier. He asked for a receipt I told him it was in the trash compactor, he can go get it... I then said nevermind I'll leave, I know where I'm not wanted I muttered, under my breath. Now I've been going to that McDs ever since it got built 'bout 10 months now and I have also frequented that same location which had an older McDs supposedly the largest in the world. Besides based on the music overhead I'd say I was in church not a

restaurant, I'm guessing someone took umbridge to that and had me thrown out, for I was asking management if this was a church or a restaurant. I was told management decided on the particular satellite radio station. After all not everyone is Christian and I had at least one individual that agreed with me. What's wrong with these people?

What is this world coming to?

This might be my greatest accomplishment of 2016

Sometimes I think the world and by association, the internet makes us feel bad about ourselves. If you're not "hustling" and doing yoga and scaling a bazillion-dollar business, it feels like you're not good enough.

But I think wins come in all sizes — big wins and small.

I feel good about my eggs. It took me over a year to get good. I don't really care how many people made fun of me for those eggs (trust me, I know how horrible they look). I'm a little slower than other people at learning to cook, but I'm happy that I kept going and figured out how to make eggs.

Success came in the form of patience disguised as an egg.

I think about the business decisions I make now, the big ones. I never could have imagined making them years ago. And in truth, I wouldn't have been able to make them — I wasn't ready then. But it took baby steps to make them, to get to the level where I earned the right to make bigger decisions.

What are you proud of? It doesn't have to be making a million dollars.

Is it spending time with your family last weekend? Or welcoming a friend who needed a place to stay? Or working hard on your business over the weekend?

Let me know in a comment here. I'm curious.

My thanks in advance for your time and attention.

Cheers,

João

P.S. Success comes in lots of forms. For me, it was an egg. I want to show you how to break down the big ideas of success into smaller ones you can achieve now. On Thursday, I'm going to show you how to take big dreams — like a vacation in Paris/Thailand/Las Vegas — and break them down. Stay tuned.

Owner at Self-Employed, has a side note for you

One relevant piece to your article is the LLC. This type of business organization can organize your business assets ,give you separation between your personal assets and your business assets. Basically, a legal insurance plan, relatively simple to form, as you write to your State Goverment and get the legal papers, install your business name and relevant info, pay a relatively small fee and your good to go. I don't want to over-simplify, but it is relatively easy to form a LLC. Anyway, just a thought as good article are provocative. Thanks teammate.
