This is fun! :-) One of today's most active real estate strategies out there is short sale investing.   Truth be told, it is a little bit of an advanced method, but there are TONS of deals. Short sales in a nutshell go something like this... - Distressed homeowner can't make their payments (for whatever reason) - You negotiate their debt with the bank to get them to accept a lowered payoff - Once your offer is accepted you resell the property for a profit or buy it and rent it out Click here to watch our killer short sale video >> With the current rate of foreclosures skyrocketing, the number of mortgages that are in default or upside down is MIND BLOWING. One of my favorite things about short sales is the fact that you get to help out families in trouble. By successfully negotiating a short sale you help your client to avoid foreclosure, allowing them to move on with their life.  I LOVE IT! Well, that and the average deal profit is HUGE. :-) Now, you should be warned that short sales are one of the more challenging strategies because the negotiations with bank can be a pain in the rear.
