"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours -- it is an amazing journey -- and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins." -- B Moawad, author

Hi,

"Blogging is dead!" "It's the end of blogging!" "Facebook algorithms are killing bloggers!"

I know you've seen those headlines on social media just like I have. It sounds scary to those of us who have chosen blogging as our career and makes us question whether or not to invest our time and money building one if there's not a future in it.

But I have some really good news for you. I truly believe, with 100% of my being, that there is actually no better time than today to be a blogger. The trends I see in the online business space are actually showing me that blogging is far from dead. The future of it is wide open, and that means your future as a blogger is even more hopeful than ever before.

To encourage you today, I wanted to share three big trends that make me more excited and sure that blogging is NOT dead -- but is actually more alive and effective than ever -- so you can be just as excited as I am.

TREND 1: BETTER BUSINESS MODELS

It's scary to look at the normal statistics and get really nervous about starting a small business. It is true that 20% of small businesses fail in their first year, 50% of all small business will fail by year five, and only 33% of small businesses will make it to year 10.

When asked why their businesses failed to produce enough cash flow to be sustainable, more than half of the business owners cited the fact that there was no market for their product, they chose the wrong product, or they didn't listen to their customers.

But the beauty of blogging and starting a successful online business is that it avoids those problems all together because it starts with relationships. That means we start by honing our message, growing our audience, then step into monetization -- when it's easy because we've connected with our market, established trust, and created products specifically for their needs.

All of this allows us to create cash flow that can help our businesses in the long-term while eliminating many of the risks that traditionally come with starting a business.

Pretty sweet, right?

TREND 2: BETTER TECHNOLOGY

By blogging and starting a business online, we get the benefit of being on the forefront of technology by default. That means that as our businesses grow and mature, so does the technology we use -- helping us work faster and easier than ever before.

Best yet, it means that there is a lower cost of entry for starting an online business, and it also makes it possible to automate parts of your business that you used to have to do alone or hire someone else to do—and that's huge.

Today you can easily build a website, create complicated email campaigns, manage virtual teams, have great customer service, schedule social media, and more with technological solutions. That means your job gets easier and easier as you go.

TREND 3: BETTER POTENTIAL

Not only do the business models and the technology make it a better time than ever to blog and start an online business, but also trends in our culture are showing that e-commerce and smart phones and other mobile devices are changing the landscape of small businesses.

Almost every person has access to the Internet all the time, and there are no signs that the trend will stop any time soon. While many will say that blogging is becoming overly saturated, but I say that just as there are more bloggers than ever, there are also more readers than ever. And it continues to expand.

That means blogging is not dead—it is only just beginning!

Yes, what blogging looks like today may look different than a year ago or five years ago, and it will continue to evolve and change. But as long as the Internet exists, the opportunities to make money online are infinite.

And guess what, Joao S? That is GREAT news for you! And that is exactly why now is the time to get the tools you need and start taking action to build your online business.
