History does repeat itself. Trends in the world may manifest themselves in various ways, but the fact is that they are always there. Think of work. The world has witnessed a lot of change in the term "work". There are always periods in history when earning a buck can be easy and there are periods in history when you really have to draw sweat, tears and bleed in order to eat and that makes it that more sweeter when you do succeed inspite of all odds.
During hard times, people sacrifice different things in order to earn some income. This includes energy, time and comfort. However, there are certain times when people can earn this conveniently, provided that the circumstances are right. This period of history provides the right circumstances. How? The technology of the internet provides it.
Today, people can work at home on line, as envisioned when we invented the inet 40 some odd years ago, thanks to AT&T and US:DoD. It goes by various terms this type of untethered work "Teleconference," "Telework," "Telecommute" which can be done from anywhere, anytime, and build Virtual Organization, Virtual Projects with a Virtual Staff and Team that convene as needed to perform the task(s) at hand, using mechanism such as Sharepoints, Connect360 or 365 and Office365 technology to share project documentation and to collaborate.
Who works at home on line?
Well, practically anyone can work on line today. Some professionals offer their services on line. Some people just get paid surfing the internet or perform 'facebooking.' Some people carry out the various tasks they need to earn their pay on line. A lot of opportunities await the person who chooses to work at home on line. Most of the so called "work" is automated and works on autopilot.
There are a lot of privileges enjoyed by people who work at home on line. The biggest of this is the fact that you control your time. People who work at home on line do not have to punch in time cards. Sometimes, that is a privilege that people are just willing to pay for. When you choose to work at home on line, you are saying goodbye to that detailed schedule and the early morning rush. Working at home online means you will own your time. Not many people can say that, can they?
There is also the privilege of space. When you choose to work at home on line, you are practically saying goodbye to that cramped cubicle or that hot "hotel" office. When you choose to work at home on line, you will be able to do the one thing that people did not think possible: relax while working. When you work at home on line, you can choose where you work, when you work. In fact, you can work where you feel the most comfortable. This means that you can increase your work efficiency and thus, earn more income, more effectively and efficiently.
You also become your own boss. When you work at home on line, you will be able to say goodbye to that supervisor and that manager of an otherwise, toxic environment. Choosing to work at home on line means you will have the liberty to do your work the way you want to do it. Isn't that amazing?
There are, however, some disadvantages to working at home on line. For one thing, you won't really have anyone to work with. Although you may have your internet contacts and colleagues, when you work at home on line, you are devoid of human contact. Sure, the internet provides you with a connection to the whole world, but there's something to be said about actually talking to someone in person.
There is also the problem of salary. There is no fixed salary when you work at home on line, however the skies the limit. It is often the case that your income depends on your work output and your computer savvy. This means that you need to have a lot of discipline in order to succeed. Choosing to work at home on line might sound easy, but it does require some sacrifices.
